Department Description

The Rockefeller University Hospital is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has 20 patient beds for clinical research. The Hospital provides researchers with an opportunity to conduct clinical studies, and offers both normal volunteers and people with diseases under study the opportunity to stay in the hospital and help to contribute to important advances in science. The Hospital has an inpatient unit as well as an outpatient center where prospective patients are screened and many outpatient studies are conducted. The Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with professional nurses and has nutritional research, social work, art and recreation departments, and a radiology suite as well as its own research pharmacy. Detailed Description

The Systems Analyst will work directly with University centers and departments to provide application configuration and functional/system support. The Systems Analyst will support the electronic Institutional Review Board (eIRB) Management (iRIS) and Clinical Trials Management Systems (CTMS). Responsibilities include implementation, ongoing use, refinement, training and general management of electronic and web based research applications, databases and tools. Under the guidance and supervision of the Hospital IT Manager, the Systems Analyst will execute revisions and upgrades during all phases of the iRIS (iMedris) submissions and study management processes.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; educational emphasis in computer Science, information systems, biology or engineering preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in a research or clinical IT setting is required. Must have strong technical and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Oracle/SQL, programming background, and Toad/SQL Query Analyzer. Strong database abilities including being able to navigate and understand tables, relationships, records, and data. Must be familiar with reporting tools such as Crystal, Jasper, iReport, etc. Must possess a deep willingness to gain subject matter expertise in protocol development, study applications and submissions, IRB workflows, as well as study/subject management. Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to translate verbal instructions into action.
