Department Description
The Purchasing Department is responsible for the cost-effective and expeditious procurement of goods and services to support the scientific and administrative endeavors of the Rockefeller University. The Rockefeller University Purchasing Department, along with the Receiving and Stockroom Departments, help ensure that equipment, supply and service needs of the University are accomplished in a professional manner that also adheres to all legal requirements and best business practices.
Detailed Description
This position will maintain inventory and commodity replenishment for the Stockroom within the University Internal Supply Center. The right candidate will input all receiving and stockroom sales data into the respective database, and maintain an organized and neat Stockroom environment. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The right candidate should also possess excellent customer service skills and must be flexible to cross-train in the mail and receipt process.
Job Requirements
High School diploma is required and Bachelors Degree is preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service skills, exceptional phone manner, and proficiency with email. Must be able to handle packages with chemicals and dispense some chemicals within the stockroom to fill end-user requests. Must be flexible for special projects as directed. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and tolerate a significant amount of standing, bending, and walking.
