Job Title Research Assistant (Salary Range: $46K-$50K)

Our long-term goal is to understand how the human telomeric complex executes its two main functions: to protect chromosome ends and mediate their replication. Our research is aimed at determining how cells distinguish natural chromosome ends from DNA breaks and what happens when telomere protection is lost.
Laboratory/bench work, including PCR, cloning, Western blots, bacterial growth & plasmid DNA purification, and protein purification from baculovirus infected insect cells for structural analysis. Will also be responsible for ordering supplies & equipment for the laboratory, chemical & biohazard waste compliance, dealing with vendors, salespeople, service contracts, & repair of equipment. Targeted salary is $46,000 to $50,000.
Bachelor's degree required. The candidate should have protein purification skills. Also, basic molecular biology skills: cloning, DNA and RNA preparation, PCR, etc.
