Our group is focused on the study of cutaneous inflammation and autoimmune mechanisms in human skin. The major disease under study is psoriasis, which is recognized as the most prevalent T cell-mediated or autoimmune disease in humans.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for performing histology, staining H&E and specific antibodies, immunohistochemistry, taking pictures through a microscope, making composites, and manual cell counting. Will receive protocols, assign work to the Histology group, prepare and hold Histology group meetings, attend teleconferences and meetings, and keep up with e-mail communication with outside scientists/collaborators regarding their projects.
Bachelor's degree in science required. Experience with IHC staining, microscopy, and cell counting a must. Knowledge of ImageJ and Adobe Photoshop required. Must be proficient in Excel, Photoshop, and PowerPoint.
