Detailed Description
The Program Manager for Outreach and Engagement Initiatives will report to the Director of RockEDU, and will be working primarily on-site in the RockEDU Science Outreach Lab. The Program Manager will be accountable for the RockEDU team and will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing lab programs and engaging experiences on-site and virtually, for scientists, K-12 educators, high school students, and undergraduate students. Assisting with RockEDU Online, RockEDU's open-access resource curation site, content management and creation (text and media), and editing. Must be the department liaison, manage department upkeeping, such as inventory supplies, equipment, repair needed, and organize lab use schedule. Will assist with teaching and mentoring team members, and community members.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred. Experience with laboratory research techniques, teaching, and mentoring skills necessary, Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), computer proficiency, and Microsoft suite required. Working knowledge of WordPress and HTML preferred. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with a team, strong interpersonal skills, multi-tasking, and priority management are required. Scheduling flexibility required when programs or events occasionally take place after hours.
