Department Description

Our group is focused on the study of cutaneous inflammation and autoimmune mechanisms in human skin. The major disease under study is psoriasis, which is recognized as the most prevalent T cell-mediated or autoimmune disease in humans.

Detailed Description

The Clinical Research Coordinator will serve as a research project coordinator for multiple research protocols related to skin diseases. Responsibilities include the recruitment of human subjects, obtaining medical records and performing intake evaluations, maintaining direct communications with patients, coordinating Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and on-going reporting, creating and maintaining case-report forms and research databases, contributing to the preparation of grants, IND submissions, presentations, and manuscripts.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in science or nursing required. Must have prior experience with conducting clinical research trials under Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and a minimum of one year of experience working directly within a Human Research Protection Program. Previous experience managing patient databases and organizing patient samples is desirable. Experience working with biological specimens (e.g. blood) is desirable. Superior written and verbal communication skills, strong computer and data management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills necessary. Must be a collaborative team member and also able to work independently. Must possess excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments, maintain workflow, and work productively in meeting critical deadlines and milestones.
