Rockefeller University Administrative Assistant (Salary Range: $70K - $80K) in New York, New York
Job Title Administrative Assistant (Salary Range: $70K - $80K)
Laboratory / Department Chen Laboratory
The Chen Lab, led by Dr. Jue Chen, studies the physicochemical principles underlying antigen processing against viruses and tumor cells, multidrug resistance in chemotherapy, and the genetic disease cystic fibrosis. The molecular machineries central to these processes are membrane proteins called ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. Our goal is to uncover the structures, energetics, and dynamics of these transporters and to identify regulatory molecules with therapeutic potential. The MacKinnon Lab, led by Dr. Rod MacKinnon, aims to understand the molecular mechanisms of information communication across the membrane of cells. Integral membrane proteins called ion channels control the electrical state of cells. The ion channels directly or indirectly through membrane receptors sense the cell's surrounding environment. Through electrophysiological, biochemical, and structural analysis, the laboratory seeks to understand how the ion channels and their cognate receptors give rise to communication between cells and their environment.
Serving as the administrative assistant for the offices of the Laboratory of Membrane Biology and Biophysics (Chen) and the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology and Biophysics (MacKinnon), we seek an independent, talented individual to manage the administrative functions of our labs.
